studio etiquette & policies

RESPECT
your fellow students, our staff and the studio space 

LATE ARRIVALS
to ensure a safe and positive class experience for students and teachers alike, we do not allow any entry into class once the teacher has entered the studio and class has begun. if you have pre-booked and are running late you must call the studio and let us know so that we can put a mat down for you or book you into another class.

PHONES/SCREENS/WATCHES
unplug… please leave devices outside the studio and silence your watches. no phones allowed in the studios unless you are a doctor on call. if you are having a family emergency or have a sick kid at home please leave your phone with the front desk, we will get you in the event.

SILENT PRACTICE ROOMS
many of us come to our mats to escape the hustle and bustle of life, so please, leave all conversations outside of the studio.  please leave all your belongings in the cubbies. be sure you’ve left your phone behind so the studios remains a phone-free space.

PROPS/EQUIPMENT
after class please clean/wipe down any prop or piece of equipment you touched and please return it to its appropriate place.

TOE-SOX REQUIRED
we are a toe-sox studio. socks required for any barre class, mat pilates or reformer pilates (private or public).

PRE BOOKING
all students can pre-book for class 14 days in advance.

SIGNATURE CLASSES
to secure your spot, make sure to book in the app and arrive 10 minutes before the start of class to allow time to set up. for everyone’s safety, do not enter a class in progress. if you’re unable to attend a class, make sure to cancel your booking to free up space for others and avoid fees. late arrival to class, without a call,  may result in forfeiting your spot so that other members can participate.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS
keep your belongings in the cubbies to keep our spaces clear and help avoid injury to staff or other members. bikes and scooters may be locked to our bike rack out front. balance does not guarantee the safety of your valuables, so please leave them at home or in your car. auto-members receive free mat storage at the studio. please inquire about our membership packages if you’re interested in mat storage.

SAUNA
be respectful of other members and keep these spaces free from food, grooming products, shoes, electronics, and sweaty workout clothes. inappropriate activity of any kind will result in immediate and permanent termination of your membership. 

GUESTS
auto-members get 1 free guest pass a month. before a visit, please email hello@balancestudiocohasset with your guests first & last name, email and phone number. remember that you are responsible for your guests. 

CHILDREN
for their protection, children are not allowed without a parent or legal guardian. children from 4 months to 15 years of age are welcome in our Young Yogi’s or Kids Club spaces during their normal operating hours subject to availability. children who are 16 years old may use the studio as a member with a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
you can cancel your class online, by phone or email or from your app up to 4 hours before class to avoid losing the class or being charged a no-show or late-cancellation fee: “late cancels” (when you cancel a class booking less than 4 hours in advance) and “no shows” (when you don’t cancel a class and don’t show up). if you are running late, please call the studio and we will do our best to accommodate you (or cancel your class without penalty).

PENALTY
Drop In: lose the class (applies to late cancel and no show)
10-Class Pack: lose the class (applies to late cancel and no show)
Auto Monthly: $5 fee for late cancel, $8 fee for no show (will automatically be charged to your card on file)
Annual: $5 fee for late cancel, $8 fee for no show (will automatically be charged to your card on file)

BOOKING WINDOW
all students can pre-book for class 14 days in advance. 

WAITLIST POLICY
even when a class appears full, you may, and should, add yourself to the waitlist. when a cancellation is made, the first name on the waitlist gets automatically added to the class.  if you are signed up for notifications, you will receive an email as soon as you are moved off the waitlist. this will happen up until 30 minutes before class. once you are added to the class from the waitlist you become responsible for attending or canceling.  If you are on a waitlist and you know that you don’t plan on coming in for class, make sure to remove yourself so you aren’t added without adequate time to make it in to the studio or to cancel.

for the first class in the morning, doors open 10 minutes before class starts. for all other classes, doors will open 15 minutes before class starts, please make every effort to arrive as early as possible. If a class has a waitlist, please arrive at least 5 minutes early. at 5 minutes before class, any student not present will risk losing their spot to someone present from the waitlist (we call this standby). to avoid losing your spot on the waitlist, arrive early and be ready to go.

PILATES EQUIPMENT POLICY
you may cancel an appointment up to 24 hours ahead of start time and receive a refund (as a money credit on your account). if you cancel less than 24 hours ahead this is considered a ‘late cancel’ and you will receive no refund.

APPOINTMENT POLICY
you may cancel an appointment up to 48 hours ahead of start time and receive a refund (as a money credit on your account). if you cancel less than 48 hours ahead this is considered a ‘late cancel’ and you will receive no refund.

WORKSHOP POLICY
we require 6-10 sign ups 48 hours prior to start time to run a workshop. you may cancel a workshop up to 48 hours ahead of start time and receive a refund (as a money credit on your account). if you cancel less than 48 hours ahead this is considered a ‘late cancel’ and you will receive no refund.

REFUNDS/RETURNS
all memberships, packages and class bookings are non-refundable. if you cancel you will receive a credit to your account which can be used towards future classes, workshops, trainings, retreats or the boutique.

BOUTIQUE
return item within 7 days for full refund to original form of payment. any item returned after 7 day window will receive merchandise credit. alI sale items are final sale.
